On Sunday September 25th, Italians voted for their new Government. Only 63.9% of Italians decided to vote. So Pornhub, along with our friends at a FQMagazine, checked to see what effect the Italian Election Day had on everyone’s favorite website.
As you can see from the following chart, Pornhub’s traffic from Italy increased on election day, and was kept above the average level all day long, so maybe that’s how all the abstained spent their Sunday.
We can see that from 7 a.m, when the polling station opened, the traffic started to increased, reaching the peak of +12% around 4 p.m.
The only drop we see is around 11 p.m. when the polling station closed but above all when the first exit poll were published. So traffic dropped by 4% across Italy, showing that Italians left Pornhub to follow the first exit polls.
Starting from this moment, traffic slowly increased reaching the peak of +13% around 3 a.m., when Elections results were already clear. So probably Italians jumped on Pornhub before going back to sleep inspired by Election results.
Taking a look into every single Italian region, we can see that during the voting time, from 7 a.m. till 11 p.m. the traffic increase was quite homogeneous all around Italy, with Basilicata (+17%), Molise (+15%) and Valley (+14%) on top.
As regards the Election evening, Basilicata first place is confirmed with an incredible increase by 35%. All the other regions had their traffic picked during the night, except from Sicily (-6%), Tuscany (-6%) and Aosta Valley (-8%).

Domenica 25 Settembre si sono svolte le elezioni politiche italiane e Pornhub, insieme a FQMagazine, ha analizzato i dati di affluenza registrati sul sito.
Come si evince dal grafico, durante la giornata il traffico medio italiano è aumentato rispetto ai livelli che si registrano solitamente su Pornhub; ecco quindi cosa potrebbero aver fatto gli italiani che si sono astenuti dal voto domenica.
Notiamo come dall’orario di apertura delle urne il traffico abbia iniziato a salire rispetto ai livelli medi e si sia mantenuto a livelli più alti del solito per tutto il giorno, arrivando a un picco del +12% intorno alle ore 16:00.
Il traffico è calato solamente intorno alle 23:00, orario di chiusura delle votazioni ma soprattutto dei primi exit poll, momento in cui il sito ha registrato un -4%. Possiamo ipotizzare che gli italiani si siano presi una pausa dal porno per sintonizzarsi sulle prime proiezioni dei risultati.
A partire da questo momento, gli accessi sul sito hanno ricominciato ad aumentare, raggiungendo il picco del +13% intorno alle 3 di notte, orario in cui i risultati delle elezioni erano ormai certi. È ipotizzabile quindi che gli italiani, ancora svegli per conoscere le sorti del paese, abbiano sentito la necessità di fare un salto su Pornhub prima di andare a dormire.
Analizzando gli accessi per le singole regioni, notiamo come durante le votazioni, tra le ore 7:00 e le 22:00, l’aumento di accessi sia stato omogeneo in tutta Italia, con in testa Basilicata (+17%), Molise (+15%) e Valle d’Aosta (+14%).
Per quando riguarda la notte dello spoglio elettorale, si conferma il primato di accessi da parte della regione della Basilicata, che a seguito dei risultati elettorali ha registrato il dato da record del +35% di accessi.
