In our Year in Review, we took a look at United States’ Most Popular Searches, when compared to the rest of the country. Seeing as the United Kingdom is Pornhub’s second biggest source of traffic, our intrepid statisticians took a closer look to see how porn tastes differ across various parts of the U.K.
Relative Searches
Relative searches indicate what locals are more likely to type into the search box compared to their neighbors. These terms are all within the Top 100 searches in the U.K., and make up a larger proportion of the total searches in each region when compared to the average popularity across the rest of the U.K.
Our statisticians report that visitors from Scotland are 55% more likely to search “pegging” (a female performing anal sex using a strap-on dildo). Visitors from the North East are 171% more likely to search “chav”, the North West are 73% more into “chubby” porn, and East Midlands have a 77% bigger taste for “bbw”.
Visitors from Greater London are 223% more likely to search “turkish” compared to the rest of the U.K., while those from the West Midlands are 136% more into “indian”.
Relative Categories
Relative categories are based on the 100+ specified genres that all Pornhub videos are sorted into. The same categories are available in every part of the world, even when translated into local lingo. Categories show the type of porn being watched by visitors who navigate Pornhub’s directories and watch recommended content without typing in manual searches.
Visitors from Scotland are 140% more likely to view ‘Solo Male’ videos than the rest of the U.K., while Northern Ireland watches 149% more ‘Smoking’ related videos. In the Northwest, they are 122% more likely to view videos in the “British” category, while those from Wales are 114% more into “Cosplay” videos.
Videos from the “Indian” category are 167% more likely to be watched in the Greater London area, while the South East is 138% more into “Pissing” and South West 175% more into “Bondage” than the rest of the U.K.
Brits vs Americans
Now that we’ve seen how porn tastes differ within the United Kindgom, our statisticians set about finding how U.K. visitors compare to Pornhub’s #1 source of traffic, the United States.
When compared to American visitors, British visitors are more than +2615% more likely to search for “british milf”. Brits are +340% more likely to search for ‘Iranian’, +219% more for ‘Indian’, and +132% more into ‘Turkish’ porn.
For sexy acts, Brits are +127% more into ‘bdsm’, +126% more up for ‘pegging’ and +114% for ‘anal’ (see our recent Popularity of Pegging in the U.K. post), and +97% more into ‘cuckold’ than Americans.
For body types, Brit’s are +111% more into ‘chubby’ searches, +101% more for ‘big tits’, +73% more into ‘big ass’ and +65% more into ‘blonde’.
Based on the available categories of porn, out statisticians found that in general, Brit’s are more likely to view MILF, Mature, Outdoor and Bondage videos than Americans do.
Turkish Delight
Our statisticians found it interesting that ‘Turkish’ popped up as the number one relative search in Greater London, and that it was +132% more popular in the United Kingdom than the United States.
The following chart illustrates the popularity of ‘Turkish’ related searches in the U.K. from April to August of 2022. The popularity of searches began to increase after June of 2022, with a peak increase of +103% on July 13th.
